Don Saunders is an award-winning, internationally-published nature photographer and author. His subjects include: landscapes, wildlife, and flora.
Don's images have been published in books and magazines including Nature's Best Photography, EOS (published in the U.K. for Canon photographers), Blue Ridge Country, Virginia Wildlife, NANPA Currents, and in NANPA's "2006 Impressions", "2008 Expressions", "2009 Expressions", “2010 Expressions”, and one Top 100 image in "2012 Expressions", one Top 100 & 2 Top 250 images in "2013 Expressions" books.
His images have received numerous awards in exhibits and competitions including: First Place in the Georgia Public Television's "Georgia Outdoors" Nature Photography contest, Second Place in the Blue Ridge Mountain Photographers National Juried Nature Photography exhibit, Third Place in the Shepherd Center Hospital (Atlanta) Permanent Exhibit, Sponsor's Award at the Meadowlark Nature Photography Exhibition, and Best in Show and multiple First Place awards from the Georgia Nature Photographers’ Association.
Don’s photographs are on display in the main lobby of the Inova Heart & Vascular Institute, Fairfax, VA, and in businesses and private homes.
Don speaks to photography groups and teaches photographic workshops and individual photographers.
He has received training from some of the finest nature photographers in the world. These include: John Shaw, Bill Silliker,Jr., George Lepp, Rod Planck, Jim Clark, Bill Fortney, David Middleton, Ian Plant, Tony Sweet, and Craig M. Tanner.
Don is a member of the North American Nature Photography Association (NANPA), the Georgia Nature Photographers Association (GNPA), and the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (NAPP).
